Velahsa w. The Silverteens, The Best Meds

Velahsa is a three-piece alternative/punk band from Minneapolis. Velahsa is composed of lead singer/songwriter Bryan Miller on guitar, Doug Heeschen on bass and Jack Smrekar on drums. The band’s name is not an actual word but a shortened version of “velociraptor”.
Velahsa is not quite punk so much as hard-driving yet melodic rock along the lines of Foo Fighters / Nirvana and The Replacements.
The Silverteens: Long known for their eclectic mix of cover songs — ranging from obscure ’60s garage rock to late ’70s punk and power pop — members of the Silverteens have been mainstays on the local scene since the 1970s and ’80s. The band released an LP in 2023 that included nine original songs, which mirror those genres. The Silverteens, with an abundance of new material, are planning to return to the studio in fall 2025.
The Best Meds brings rock ‘n roll back to the acoustic guitar, with music influenced by the Stones and Eddie Cochran, and words inspired by late nights, strong drinks, and alligators. Their cd Free Sample is available on Spotify.
