Jeff Ray’s resonator slide guitar and original songs meet the deep, instinctive rhythms of legendary percussionist Donald “Hye Pockets” Robertson. Rooted in country blues, American fingerstyle, and musical improvisation, this special duo performance is a conversation between melody and rhythm.
Ray’s expressive slide guitar has been called “in a league with the best on the planet” by the Duluth News Tribune. Robertson’s rhythmic touch was honed on stages with blues legend Luther Allison and alongside acclaimed regional artists including Maurice Jacox, Jimi “Primetime” Smith, Joel Johnson, and Willie Walker.
