The Samuel John Band is a North Country Rock band with a sound blending classic country influences and modern rock edge. Their music fuses traditional country, outlaw spirit, and rock vibes. From their own written music to reimagined covers, they deliver raw performances appropriate for both rowdy and listening crowds.
Singer-songwriter Sammie Jean Cohen was born and raised in Minneapolis Minnesota. She brings an outlaw country but yet bluesy folk sound to the stage. She was inspired by a wide variety of music growing up like Etta James, and The Eagles being two of them. Her goals are writing unfinished songs and getting some recordings out and one day dreams of opening for The Heartless Bastards.
Chief Opossum (the first O is silent) combines neotraditional country, hard rock, and a wide range of sounds. Based out of Minneapolis, Chief Opossum evokes the warmth, familiarity, and comfort of the upper Midwest. Having released their debut EP Northerner in early 2024, Chief Opossum is currently developing their first full length album, expected in late 2025. Major influences include Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson, and Queens of the Stone Age.
