SUMMARY:Marian Runk w. Boots & Needles\, The Beavers
DESCRIPTION:Marian Runk’s music “honestly and humorously reflects the ambiguities of being a fallible human.” The Dallas-born\, Chicago-based indie folk artist writes detail-oriented and deeply visual songs\, sonically in the vein of Karen Dalton\, Willie Nelson\, and Gillian Welch. Her 2024 release Two Wires and a Spark\, a folk album with a vintage jazz and country feel\, garnered press from Rainbow Rodeo\, The Chicago Reader\, and The Great American Folk Show\, and explored themes of loneliness\, (mis)communication\, grief\, addiction\, and vulnerability. Her new LP\, Brighter Blue\, drops in spring of 2027\, but you can listen to the first single\, “Scorpion’s Nest\,” on all streaming platforms starting October 2!\nhttps://www.marianrunk.com/\n\nBoots & Needles combines the talents of Lauren Asheim and Dallas Cornell and features Vintage Country\, Traditional\, and Rockabilly vibes.  You may recognize Lauren from past bands including The Hula Peppers and Slippery People.  She has also trod the boards as an actor and vocalist all over the Twin Cities including the Guthrie Theater\, the History Theater\, Mixed Precipitation and more.  Dallas brings a wealth of musical skills and an eye for design to the duo and also plays with the Cornell Power Service.  Known as the “human metronome” and a skilled sewing artist\, he is full of surprises.  They aim to share their love of all things country with some sparkles & dirt and a few more unexpected pairings along the way… \n/https://www.bootsandneedles.com/ \nThe Beavers are a folk-grassy group of musical friends. Together\, they play a mix of originals and covers ranging from old-timey to ’70s and ’80s hidden treasures\, and maybe a couple more they picked up on the town. \nhttps://www.instagram.com/lovethebeavers/

SUMMARY:Joe Carey EP Release w. Jeff Ray\, Norah Shea
DESCRIPTION:St. Paul-based singer-songwriter Joe Carey has been active in the greater Minnesota music scene for over 25 years and has released six albums to date\, along with several singles. He is known for his rootsy blend of soulful rock\, classic country\, and Irish folk music that The Current says “rings with the energy and swagger of a band of sailors in a crowded Irish pub”. Carey is now celebrating the recent release of his new topical EP “Fight Songs” about which local radio personality Bill Deville says “may be his best batch yet!”. \n  \nJeff Ray is a slide‑guitarist and songwriter whose resonator‑based style blends blues\, folk\, and global melodic traditions. His music emphasizes improvisation\, atmosphere\, and emotional presence. With eight albums and national radio features\, he’s a longtime voice in Midwest acoustic music. \n  \nNorah Shea is an upcoming singer/songwriter from Roseville\, MN. She describes her music as “sad folk for eldest daughters.” She finds influence in artists such as Bob Dylan\, Joni Mitchell\, and Paul McCartney. You can follow her journey through her instagram @norahshea and her website norahshea.com!

SUMMARY:Trench Size Trio
DESCRIPTION:A funky instrumental trio consisting of three of the twin cities most seasoned musicians (we’re talking fresh herbs –\nnone of the stale dried out store bought stuff). Trench Size Trio (TST) has been developing a sound and a body of\nwork for close to a decade and not showing any signs of slowing down. Tom Reichert is the founder and has been\nplaying with Joey Van Phillips for over two decades. So\, it’s no mystery that their symmetry together has been a\nnatural progression. Jim Anton\, a long-time touring musician to the stars\, has more recently settled down in the twin\ncities and has become a household name to musicians and listeners alike. Together the three have developed a very\nunique sound\, a cohesive musical bonding that gives a joyful listening experience. TST plays all original music\nleaning towards a back beat heavy sound with a jazz sense of improvisation. The melodies are catchy and quirky at\nthe same time\, but easily accessible to the average listener.\nTwo of their most recent compositions\, “Jiggle the Handle” and “Can We Sing”\, have been self-released and are\navailable on all streaming platforms.

DESCRIPTION:Mumblin’ Drew’s Oldfangled Orchestrators (MOO) are a string band from Minneapolis\, MN. Purveyors of novelty\, squeezed through a cheesecloth filter of eccentric entertainment\, they reanimate the music of the early 20th century. Meet MOO with an open mind\, and prepare to be zazzled and zowed! You can find MOO down at the White Squirrel Bar\, on W 7th Street in St. Paul\, MN the 2nd Monday of every month. https://mumblindrew.com/ \n
